Iconic Halston Sale

Halston, Jagger, Minelli faffing around at Studio54

"Jump for joy in this sleek black silk jumpsuit!" said Bianca to Minelli, while Halston looked on. "That's right broadway baby, turn them green with envy in this turquoise evening dresss," replied Minelli.

The Outnet is holding a special Halston sale today  and guess what? nearly everything has sold out, which is no surprise. Fetished over by Rachel Zoe and Tamara Mellon (both are on the Halston board) and funded by Harvey Weinstein, the  iconic 70's brand for the Studio54 set continues to enduce a fashion orgasm  in many a stylish woman.

The Halston look was based on minimal and conceptual art principles: cashmere sweaters, shirtwaist dresses, simple elegant pants, rather than "fancy dress." Even his evening wear was glamorous and sexy in its very simplicity. His color palette was ivory, black, and red, but he understood the principle of accent and emphasis, using fuschia, electric blue, and deep burgundy.

Halston was best known for his drapey jersey dresses and the gorgeous silk jersey blend he used to make garments feel like liquid gold. If you have fallen in love with the label/look, but cannot afford the price tag, I have located a very Halston-like dress from All Saints which is currently reduced to £30, and which is super soft and lux.
