Would you get out of bed for less than 50%

The SALES started early this year, and the word out on the street is that shoppers are not too happy with the 30% discounts some high-street shops are offering instead of a more respectable 50% to 70% -- so I decided to investigate by hitting the shops in Covent Garden.

ZARA: They have everything in price sections - but including a shirt reduced from £34 in a discount £29 aisle, does not exactly feel like a bargain. Crap
H&M: It just looked like all the summer stock they never sold - which all looked really garish.
DUNE: Lovely selection of stilletos, but most of them are only discounted by 30% Big fucking deal.

The only sale worth travelling to in real time is the Harrods SALE. Particularly for beauty products (make sure you go the 5th floor/Beauty Salon for  shopping without being surrounded by annoyingg tourists). Harrods knows how to host a sale and puts high-street discounts to shame  because they usually reduce designer items by 50% if not 80%   - So you can bag a pair of manolos for the sale price of a pair of Dunes.

My dad's closet is filled with over 30 years of designer sale shopping at Harrods - he totally swears by them, and is travelling back from the Med to do some shopping.

For everything else there is online shopping, but you have to be quick because the sale skanks snap up the best things fast. So here are my top picks -  just in case you need to get something.

LINGERIE
Agent Provocateur:  They always guarantee a good sale and this year is no different. Thankfully, they have not sold out in user-friendly sizes  so you can still find a decent set in your size.

I went for this Maschina body (which was Rhianna wore in one of her recent videos) because I love that barbed wire detailing which will look good with low slung jeans (in order to avoid that gstring popping out look). It has a zip fastening up the back and edgy spikey elastic detachable suspender ends. Maschina body reduced from £145 to £40!
Coco de Mer:  This year's online discounts are not huge  - standing  at only 30% for about 30% of their stock.  Maybe they are saving their discounts for their shop. Who knows. Here are some good choices.

From left to right: Belle D'Amour was £40, now £28 - Lashings of black lace weave around these boy shorts from Mimi Holliday. Princess TamTam Hourglass Homage set made from a futuristic technical fabric, in a rich aubergine colour. Complete set now reduced to £45 from £105. Snow Drop bra and knicker set now £56, reduced from £80.
